In our research into the death of Horatio Pike, and the circumstances surrounding the devastating wreck of the Morella, we find more evidence of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Benedictine Order. We have seen evidence of the Order of St. Mary on various objects the Blessed Mother has appeared on, past to present, as well as various objects depicting St. Benedict, including a Benedictine prayer card sent to Annabel Lee by her mother. Interestingly, St. Benedict's life features a story about a Raven. How are these ancient Orders still influencing Forrest City's present?

I happen to share a birth month with Poe. With this in mind, I gave myself the month off to contemplate the intricacies of the threads that bind our city. The past seems to come in and out of focus, adding a chronological dimensionality that affords residents a chance to almost relive the past. News seems to surface daily, surprising descendants and longtime residents, and their families, as well. It is no surprise then, on the first day of the new month, that I should receive a gift from the past. I am curious to see where this leads me, and to find out who might be doing the leading.

Back during the investigation into Annabel Lee's murder, there was an article in the Tribune about a hypnotist who was accused of injuring a man after he failed to properly bring him out of a hypnotic state, resulting in the man falling off the stage and injuring his leg. The accused comedian/hypnotist, Dave Thompson, was being sued by the self-proclaimed victim, William Bean. Was he really able to hypnotise this man? He is a comedian, after all. Then again, a lot of truth is said in jest...

In the article below, we see the writer, Roxie Green, bringing particular attention to this question about Miranda Davenport. In Sandra Goodman's article in the Forrest City Tribune, she mentions that Henry Davenport was discussing his role in the Usher building tragedy with his brother-in-law, Butch Feiler. Was Miranda Davenport trying to shield that side of her family from the negative impact this truth would have? In any case, why isn't Butch Feiler being held accountable for his complicity in this terrible incident? Could his friendship with Detective Casteel have something to do with it?

The new upcoming artist at the Aventura Gallery, newly located in the Millennium Tower, Alonzo has been quoted saying of his paintings, "I don't know where they come from...they almost seem to create themselves through me."
On the back of the latest Observer, there is an advertisement that features Alonzo's photo, as well as a painting that seems to show a destroyed landscape in some post-apocalyptic future. Did this painting come from the future? Perhaps his paintings aren't created through him so much as communicated through him. A vision of the future, so we can stop it before it happens. Or maybe Alonzo is just painting terrifyingly beautiful images. Whatever you believe, I think we can agree that we are all waiting to see what he paints next.

When the Raven abducted Emma Sharpe last Mardi Gras, he left a puzzle for us to figure out. That puzzle featured a photo of The Magician card from a tarot deck. Was this an indication that The Raven knew about Lancaster's eventual exhibit of the same name? What ties might The Raven have to Lancaster Museum?

A lot of similar imagery can be seen on the Nautilus website, and in John Shaw's notebook, from his investigation in 1871. I wonder if Nautilus might be built in the old Trembley Clock Works building? On the website, it mentions the owner, Evan Alvarez, lived in an apartment in the basement, which Lucius did, as well. I am further driven to this conclusion by the image of the steampunk Raven on the Nautilus website. As we know, Lucius' mother's name was Annabel, and Mr. Alvarez made Kim Jansen feel very uncomfortable with questions about her old roommate, Annabel Lee, who died at the hands of the infamous Raven.

It's nice the get a fresh perspective on the news around town. I had begun to feel that a high level of nepotism and collusion was beginning to tarnish the reputation of the Tribune and the Post. Too many close ties to prominent names to reveal the truth, where those prominent names might be involved. A lot of information has come to light over the last two years. So much still remains hidden, and it will be uncovered. To those that seek to keep the truth hidden...we are watching.

With Cecil's Cafe being temporarily closed, due to fire, I have been Jonesing for some of Cecil's espresso. Got to kill two birds with one demitasse, this morning, while discussing the particulars of the Jazz festival his Cafe is sponsoring. Cecil found himself on the edge of the most recent Raven case, as well. He introduced Kim Jansen, Annabel's roommate before being killed by The Raven, to Evan Alvarez, owner of Nautilus. She said he wouldn't stop talking about Annabel while they were holed up in the Grantham. Alvarez subsequently became a suspect in the case. Cecil was also at the Grantham when Julie Kennon was murdered. Julie was Annabel's roommate when she first moved to Forrest City. Julie moved out shortly before Annabel's death, but remained in the same building-The Earnhardt Building.

As I previously mentioned, October 22nd marked the end of the sign of the Raven in the Native American Zodiac. The quote below, chosen by OTS for their Tribune advertisement, is made even more interesting by the fact that the Snake immediately follows the Raven in the Native American Zodiac. As is well-known, the serpent is a symbol of the medical community, which has easily seen implications for a murderer dubbed The Surgeon.

The peculiarities of the Circus murders continue to mount. There are a huge number of informational cross sections that overlap the stories behind many of Forrest City's recent macabre murders. The first, and most obvious fact is that Mr. Gracia was a suspect in last year's Mad Hatter murders. Sometimes we are given information in bits and pieces and expected to create a whole picture from what seems like half of a puzzle. Every once in a while, though, the pieces come together and allow us to glimpse the bigger picture. Or, at least hope that we have glimpsed it. When information about the 1872 expedition to a Mayan lost city came to light, many people wondered, who are Mary and Lucia that were in contact with John Shaw? Never one to discount any path that might lead me to the truth, I wandered out of the past and into the present. I remembered the name Shaw from The Mad Hatter murders. Brandin Shaw was a suspect during the investigation, and it was revealed that his *deceased mother's name was Mary. His father was unknown. What really struck me was that, in his mug-shot, from what I assume is his most recent arrest in 2015, there is a distinct 64-X(we have discussed the significance of the number 64 in Forrest City extensively in the past. And is the X some indication of Mr X's involvement?) that can be seen on the sign he is holding for the mug-shot. What also made me curious was just to the right of the 64, is what appears to be a count indication that says 4/11. Was Brandin Shaw the fourth person out of eleven in some sick experiment? Inmates from SBP have been known to volunteer for experiments and trials. 4/11 is reminiscent of the leaked information about the group of individuals being held at the ominous facility known as Sector 7, as well as the unfortunate Resident 11. Were there 11 people being held there? Was Shaw one of them? I'm not sure there are enough shadows to hold all these people's secrets anymore...

Can We Ever Put The Past Behind Us?
The death of Julia Kennon at Grantham Hotel's 150th anniversary was both shocking and tragic. Some would say it was Karma. Julia's past had come back to haunt her. Would those people be so quick to judge if their own past came back to haunt them? Julia's murder not only illuminates her own dark past, but the dark past of Forrest City, as well.
Julia's murder at Grantham was thought, by some people, to mimic murders in 1873 by a killer dubbed The Strangler. His first two murders were committed on June 13, 1873. One of the victims was Eudora Usher. All these years later, Julia Kennon's first roommate in Forrest City was Annabel Lee. Annabel Lee would be the victim in a series of themed murders by The Raven. Another of his victims was April Usher. Back in 1873, The Strangler would also murder Madeline Morris. Morris had a baby daughter named Jennifer. We can infer from my little anecdote that Jennifer had a very rough start to her life, but she also had a very rough end. 18 years later, Jennifer Morris would be one of 3 victims killed in Forrest City by Jack the Ripper. The investigator in The Ripper murders was John Blusson. A present-day relative of John Blusson, Archon Genomics geneticist James Blusson, would be murdered on site at Archon Genomics. From leaked documents on the investigation into James Blusson's murder, we know he had contact with Annabel Lee. It is additionally interesting to note that the first reporter to call the murderer in 1873 The Strangler was Constance Alden. James Blusson's coworker, Emma Sharpe, who was also a victim of The Raven's schemes, like Annabel Lee and April Usher, has a deceased daughter named Constance. But that is probably taking this whole thing too far, right?
To turn a phrase by my friend, Cecil Chamberlain, I'm not saying these tragedies are all connected, it's just what I heard. I am saying the past haunts us. Families carry secrets for generations. Often times, there are reasons for both venerating these families, and dreading them. Know our city's past. Know your own past. You never know when either one might come back to haunt you.

Forrest City Property Records will show that Bedlam Asylum and the Kennedy Medical Building share a mailing address. A Bedlam Asylum admission form from December 5, 1862 for Lucius Trembley was signed by Edmund J. Kennedy MD, so we know the Kennedy family has a long-standing relationship with the infamous mental hospital. The question is, did the activities that are reported to have happened in the asylum move along with the address? It is interesting to note that the Savage family is full owner of the Kennedy Building, and 50% owner of Bedlam Asylum. It is also interesting to note that the Savage family owns the Earnhardt Building, where Annabel Lee was killed by the Raven(Investigated by SSA Alex Reyes), and where the recent victim of the Grantham Hotel murder, Julia Kennon, and her suspected killer both resided. Furthermore, the federal building is less than a block away from the Earnhardt Building. That wouldn't be of any interest, necessarily, if not for the fact that SSA Alex Reyes, who runs the local FBI field office, had been brought to light as the orphaned Savage heiress, Andrea Savage. Considering the events of the last 18 months, I'd say some people have some explaining to do.

Is this photo proof that Forrest City's past is being changed? The Forrest City Tribune is billed as Forrest City's longest running newspaper, but would you know if it wasn't? The inside of this paper is titled The Forrest City Herald, but the cover has the very well known Forrest City Tribune title. This particular paper is from 1870. Current research into the reasons for Forrest City's...unusual occurrences...only goes back to 1875. Why is that? What happened before 1875? Clearly, there is available data to further that research, so why dismiss it? What are THEY hiding?

While police and federal agents were not able to get conclusive DNA evidence from the "Kiss of Death" left on the forehead of Julia Kennon, they do know that Bordeaux wine was present in the trace evidence, and the suspect was female. This would not be inherantly damning evidence if not for the fact that the only suspect directly connected to wine, and female, was Roxanne Theen. Her mother is a wine steward at Bacchus Wine Bar.

We don't know much about Nathan Bedford Stowe, other than he was Dr. Oglevie's predecessor at Bedlam Asylum. The abrupt nature of his departure certainly leaves room for speculation. I do find it interesting that, only 18 years later, in 1941, a wealthy man named Nathan Bedford bought the property on Savage Island from the Savage family. He purchased it with the intention of building a home for his soon-to-be wife. Unfortunately, she hung herself before the wedding. Oddly, right around the time Nathan Bedford Stowe left his position at Bedlam, and subsequently left Forrest City, Ashley Strand, wife of local sheriff, Thomas Strand, hung herself. Maybe Nathan Bedford Stowe's departure had something to do with Ashley Strand hanging herself. Maybe someone was returning the favor, all those years later.

Did you know Ricki Sparks and Julia Kennon both lived in the Earnhardt Building? There is an obvious, added inconvenience in choosing Grantham's 150th anniversary to commit the crime, rather than the more immediate location of close living quarters. Also of interest is the fact that Ms. Sparks was Vice President of The Edgar Allan Poe Society. After the death of Julia's friend, Annabel Lee, Dante's Rare Books owner, Rhonda Raymond, said that Julia "devoured Poe." And why is there no more than a passing mention about the fact that, while it is assumed that it was Ms. Sparks in the white mask, used to obscure her identity, a figure in a white mask was seen in The Grantham Hotel after Ms. Sparks' arrest?

Over a year ago, these cemetary renovations took place. Construction was done by Gaveas(an obvious anagram for Savage). A short time before this, Annabel Lee was murdered by The Raven. Via anonymous donation, Annabel was entombed in an actual sepulcher by the sea(reflecting pond in this case). In the past, I made in known that the Savage family happens to own property in Sarasota, where Annabel is from. We know that Alex Reyes' true lineage lies in the Savage bloodline. We know the Savages have connections to Archon Genomics, a company with the Caduceus as part of their logo. A logo Annabel happens to wear on her skin. Would we find that same logo on Reyes? Who was Annabel Lee?

In Poe's story The Fall of the House of Usher, there is an extensive library. Among the many ancient tomes, The Belphegor of Machiavelli is mentioned. Belphegor is the name of one of the Seven Princes of Hell, corresponding to the Seven Deadly Sins. Naturally, if there are Seven Archangels, there must be their evil counterparts. We know that one from each side has fallen. What of the other 6 from each side? Do they live among us, now, just waiting for the moment when the next war will be waged for Heaven?

In past posts, I have discussed the connection between The Raven and the Dragon, via the rook(name for another blackbird)missing from the suspected Dragon's apartment(Dragon's blood was also known to give one the ability to speak the Language of the Birds, as informed by Odin, who talked to his ravens, Huginn and Muninn). I also discussed the two serpents, created from the blood of the Titans, given to Medea by Apollo, who has close associations with the serpent or dragon from his Temple at Delphi, where the defeated Python resided(who was known to be a drakaina, a serpent or dragon). Apollo was also the God who gave Hermes the Caduceus, which features two intertwined serpents. Here, we come full circle in our story, bc Apollo's mythology holds another story that connects to the events in our city. Apollo's lover was Coronis(Greek for raven). When Apollo was away, he learned, from a white raven, that Coronis was having an affair. In his rage, Apollo burned the raven black, and that is why ravens are black now. To add a particular kind of a terror to this story, Coronis was pregnant when Apollo sent his sister, Artemis, to kill her. He only regained his godly vigor when Coronis was on the funeral pyre and Hermes had taken her soul to Tartarus, but not before, having been given the signal by Apollo, Hermes cut out the unborn child from Coronis' belly and gave the child to Chiron to be raised(Liu Min was an orphan, nearly dying in a fire with her parents and siblings). The child that Coronis gave birth to was Asclepius, whose symbol is the serpent. In fact, being the God of Medicine, his staff(the Rod of Asclepius), not Hermes' Caduceus, should be the more often used medical symbol. Not that doctors don't often act as ushers of the souls to the afterlife, like Hermes. An additional insight into this myth is the fact that Zeus later killed Asclepius for bringing someone back from the dead.

This is a portion of a leaked document from a covert facility called Sector 7. Keeping animals locked up in cages and performing tests and experiments on them is an unfortunate reality in our world, but, unless it's a member of the corvidae family of birds(looking at you Raven...), they don't usually speak. Strand could be referencing a few things...DNA strands for genetic experimentation, a strand of hair, a lake shore, etc. I am inclined to think this talking Beast was referring to the family that resides here in Forrest City, and has for generations.

There has been a terrible air around Forrest City since New Years Eve. Johnson Savage and Julie Bull have not been seen since, and Casey Cavanaugh has been seen drinking around town and found in some unusual locations. I believe this study is the key. As the article indicates, Savage was to meet with the researchers, who concluded their study last year, to discuss further investigation into this phenomenon of violence. The names listed are a group very diverse in their career paths. Lawyer and Historian, Archaeologist and Genetics company CEO. All invited to a mysterious NYE party on Savage Island, under the guise of a revealing of the identity of the new, enigmatic Bedford Manor owner. The details of which are minimal, to say the least. I believe this was the group of researchers(I have it on good authority that Christopher Forrest was involved, as well. A wealth of information lies in his shop of Curiosities). I believe they DID meet. The question now becomes...what did they discover? Or, better yet, what did they cover up? Did Johnson Savage know they were hiding something important to the study? Why else would he donate the money to figuring out the answer and then disappear? The article indicates they researched as far back as 1875. Why not further? I, myself, have seen documents and papers dating earlier. Why are these not added to the research? A terrible air, indeed. The air of desperation.

Back in late December, Sonya Grant, then Assistant Curator, was given a Curator position by unanimous decision from the Lancaster Museum Board of Trustees. With morally questionable people like David Myers, attorney with OTS, as well as Dr. Michael Kennedy and Mayor Adrienne Cavanaugh on the Board, you have to wonder what morally questionable things Ms. Grant might have done to win their favor. Let's hope nothing too close to the long arm of the law, she comes from a long line of law enforcement, including relation to current FBI SSA Liam Grant. The exact relationship between Ms. Grant and Mr. Grant is unknown, as is the exact number of people, and their identities, on Lancaster's Board of Trustees.

Here is a partial photo of a leaked document from the investigation into the disappearances of Dr. Grace Whittington and Father Dominic Lorenzi. The indication is that they stumbled upon a church relic that seemed to be older than the Earth itself. The oldest terrestrial rock found in the Earth was dated between 3.8 and 4 billion years old. The oldest rock brought back from the Moon was dated to nearly 4.5 billion years, making it the oldest rock on Earth, though not in origin. What could this relic be? There are substances called Primordial Nuclides, which have existed in their present form since before Earth formed. Thorium, one of these primordial substances, has a half-life of 14.05 billion years - older than the universe. Thorium is one of two significantly radioactive elements that still occur naturally as a primordial substance. The other is uranium. Are these really the only two? Are there more primordial substances out there, being kept secret? Could we be dealing with substances so old, the Earth formed around them? Could these substances be the reason life developed on Earth? Interestingly, one of the rocks brought back from the moon is known as the Genesis Rock.

The OTS symbol is an ubiquitous one. Representing the Greek Goddess Dike, the scales are a symbol of Justice. Justitia, Dike's Roman counterpart, was shown to be blindfolded. Quite telling, as it so often seems like Justice is blind. Dike was also shown wearing a Laurel wreath - a symbol of victory. Apollo was known to wear this, as well. Apollo is also well known for his association to serpents. In fact, his Oracle at Delphi was originally inhabited by Python, a "Drako" - Serpent or Dragon. Ancient Greeks believed this location to be the Omphalos, Gaia's Navel. The Center of the Earth. Interestingly, Dante Aligheri is often represented wearing a Laurel wreath. A depiction of Medea's chariot, pulled by two serpents, 4th century BC. Medea's serpents, given to her by Apollo, were born from the blood of the Titans. I find it interesting that Medea's myth involved two serpents. If one is to think of mythology as metaphor for cosmological and Earthly truths, the two serpents could have a similar meaning as the Caduceus(carried by the Messenger God, Hermes, and also given to him by Apollo). Medea was known to be a disciple of the Greek witch, Hecate. I have always seen witchcraft, in mythology, as ancient science and medicine, and its followers to be very wise. The blood of serpents and dragons has different meanings throughout their own myths and folklore, but keeping with previous mentions, I'll site Odin's suggestion to Sigurd(who becomes cursed by a gold ring, but that's for a later theory), for after he slays the dragon, Fafnir. Odin tells Sigurd that bathing in Fafnir's blood will give him the ability to understand the Language of the Birds. Not unlike Odin, who speaks to his two Ravens, Huginn(thought) and Muninn(memory). Was Medea's chariot a metaphor for wisdom passed down from the time of the Titans? Perhaps, given the advancements in technology, since the discovery of DNA in 1953, we might believe in something a little more...Mythical. Could Medea have held the actual blood of a Titan? Perhaps her chariot was, like the Mayan serpent bar, "showing her blood." What "message" did she carry? What message from the past might we, or people around us, be carrying within our DNA?

Bernard De Montfaucon, who I have mentioned before as the possible identity of the Benedictine Monk who brought the mysterious relic from Mont St. Michel in Normandy, France, to be placed beneath the altar at the Basilica of St Michael, here in Forrest City, was also responsible for reintroducing the Bayeux Tapestry to modern scholars In 1729 and 1730, when he published drawings and a detailed description of the complete work in the first two volumes of his Les Monuments de la Monarchie Franηaise. There are more than a few very interesting things about the Tapestry. One that intrigues me the most is the depiction of Aelfgyva and the Cleric, mainly bc she is standing between two serpents. Mont St. Michel is also depicted on the Tapestry. More than a few details from Forrest City's past and present can be traced back to the Norman invasion, up to the French Revolution.

What are the authorities holding back about the city's favorite anti-hero? As far as has been revealed to the public, The Raven has killed 10 individuals. Who is this mystery number 11?! I call August O'neal an "anti-hero" bc, sure, as The Raven he has killed a number of innocent women during his reign of terror in Forrest City, but, as literature professor, August O'neal, he has also told a very important story, exposing some of the dark underbelly that works in the shadows of Forrest City and keeps secrets hidden from prying eyes. Some might thank him for pulling back the veil, while others would condemn him for his atrocious acts against the innocent. If, indeed, they are innocent. Only time will tell.

With the recent tragedy of yet another mine collapse in Forrest City, we are reminded of a seemingly all too often repeated reason for sending condolences to our Forrest City brothers and sisters. In my studies of some of the various aspects of Forrest City's history and evolution into the present, I have found an undeniable correlation between mine collapses and the mental state of the citizenry of our fair city. Put bluntly...people tend to go a bit crazy. And not just those who were directly related to victims of the collapses. I have learned that our perception of our own history has been altered. We are told that the study being conducted is looking for a reason behind some of the more macabre tragedies and high levels of violent crime in Forrest City. Research into data going back to 1875 will be used to make a determination. But what if that isn't far enough? My studies into our city's past indicate that there was a mine collapse in May of 1870. Noone talks about it, but news from the dates following the event show some pretty strange occurrences, on par with the goings on of our present day. What is under the very ground we walk upon? We don't know, but someone does. Why is the truth being withheld? What evils will come to the surface when we dig further into the past?

Documents from the Raven's high profile case will show that David Myers was in some kind of relationship with Annabel Lee. Transcripts between David and Judge James Ryke will show David confessing this to the judge, as the judge urges him not to. He did his clerkship with Judge Ryke, as well. Judge Ryke ended up deadly shortly after David Myers' confession to him. We also find out that David is the Lee family attorney. The photo below shows a wedding invitation for David and Lauren. It is easy to speculate that this is the same David. Also in the photo is another meeting with "DM." Also easy to speculate this is David Myers. David Myers is on the Board of the Lancaster Museum, with Dr. Michael Kennedy and our newly elected Mayor Adrienne Cavanaugh, along with other influential Forrest City luminaries. Mr Myers is also the attorney for the woman suspected of being The Dragon, Liu Min. During the investigation of The Raven's kidnapping of Agent Alex Reyes, we see the same initials, DM, in her planner. I'd hate to be brought up on libel charges, so I am not suggesting these facts insinuate anything. Just stating fact, here.

The Language of the Birds is said to be a perfect, divine language. Odin, All-Father of Norse mythology, understood this language and used it to communicate with his two Ravens, Huginn and Muninn, who would reveal all that they saw happening in the world of men. It could also be obtained by tasting dragon blood. In this technology-based present we are living in, might that mythical concept be more poignant when thought of as computer code? The code that will allow us to create AI, maybe? Computer code is, very much so, its own language. Casey Cavanaugh has even made comments about a new mathematical language she is creating. And dodged questions relating to the applications of artificial Intelligence. A new language to create a new lifeform. A lifeform that could go out into the world and come back to report all that is going on in the world of men.

Li Ping was The Dragon's second victim. The Dragon seemed to go out of her way with this victim. She was found unclothed, face down(a sign of disrespect in many cultures), with a gold coin in her mouth, and an alarm clock set to 8 o'clock. Interestingly, the name Ping can mean "equal to" or "same level" and the number 8 is known as the karmic equalizer. I also find it interesting that Li Ping was in the Snakeheads gang. This indicates atleast two snakes. Perhaps, intertwining snakes, like those found in the medical profession's caduceus symbol and, particularly, Archon Genomics. The Snakeheads are also known for their human-trafficking. Could they be part of whatever sinister plot is afoot, that is causing these poor souls in our city to seemingly vanish?

As of 11th Hour, we know that Archon has expanded its 30 acre facility another 30 acres. For what purposes, Archon has not specified. I found the mention of a Start-Up Ecosystem in the most recent issue(and return!) of The Tribune very interesting in this regard. In the same recent issue, we learn about a viral outbreak of unknown origin. With biotechnology contracts with the US Government high on the list of Archon priorities, it isn't far-fetched to assume that Archon would want a facility that mimics real-world conditions, in which they could test, maybe, new viruses or bacteria as they invent them. This would make it a lot easier to analyze projected paths of potential outbreaks and help develop counter-measures. Not without terrible consequences, I'm sure. As we know, Forrest City is a haven for the unlucky!

Is Gabriel the Archangel the archetype for the Messenger Gods we have heard mentioned in the FCU, thus far? We know from Bones of Angels that the shard of bone from Michael is as old as the Earth itself. If the Archangels have been around that long, their influence on man would span millions of years and I'm sure different civilizations would refer to them as different things. The symbol for Archon is the caduceus, carried by Hermes/Mercury, who were known as messengers of the Gods. Quetzacoatl is also a Messenger of the Gods and known as the Feathered Serpent(twin brother being the opposing serpent) and his story of writing in the Language of the Gods, or DNA, brings it back around to Archon and their genetics work. Gabriel was also the Messenger of God. If Michael perished in a battle with the Devil, I think Gabriel survived and remained on Earth to protect humanity. He gave them advancements in technology to help them. I think this is the civilization that left the message in our DNA. When evil forces destroyed them, Gabriel helped rebuild humanity, eventually being known as all these other mythological figures of God Messengers. Is Gabriel still protecting humanity in present day Forrest City?
